Genal Viewpoints
Admire Cartajima and its surroundings from above.
El Quince Viewpoint
Located about 500 meters from the town center of Cartajima, this viewpoint offers impressive panoramic views of Cancha Almola, the Riscos de Cartajima, the municipality itself, and a large part of the Genal Valley. It is a central spot for the celebration of the Niño Jesús Pilgrimage and has a recreational area. Several trails start nearby, including the PR-A 224 toward Júzcar.
Upper Genal Basin Viewpoint
This viewpoint, often referred to as the “Genal Viewpoint,” offers an unparalleled panorama of the Genal River Valley. It faces the white villages of Alpandeire, Fajarán, Jubrique, and Genalguacil, as well as the summit of Pico Torrecilla and the Rock of Gibraltar. The Genal Valley is known for its dense oak and chestnut forests, nourished by Atlantic moisture. In Cartajima there is also a restaurant called “El Mirador del Genal” that offers views.
Almola Viewpoint
La Cancha Almola is a prominent mountain formation in the Serranía de Ronda, reaching an elevation of 1,409 meters at its southwestern end. Its upper part is a plateau sloping northward, rectangular in shape, featuring sharp limestone pavement and several dolines. It is a significant geographical point that offers spectacular views and is visible from various viewpoints in the area.
